AN ORDINANCE AMENDING

THE METER DEPOSIT

ORDINANCE CHAPTER 9-2-26

OF THE ORDINANCE OF THE

CITY OF CLEAR LAKE, SOUTH DAKOTA

BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Clear Lake, that an ordinance amending the meter deposit ordinance in Chapter 9-2-26 of Ordinance 94-396 as amended by Ordinance 445 be amended as follows:

9-2-26: METER DEPOSIT.

Every consumer shall, prior to receiving water service, deposit with the municipal Finance Officer, a meter deposit in the amount of $100.00. Said meter deposit shall be held in a separate fund by the municipal Finance Officer as a guarantee of payment of water charges. Whenever service to a customer is discontinued, the balance due the City for water service to said customer, together with penalties, if any, shall be deducted from said deposit and the balance of said deposit refunded to said customer.
